About the Event Topic
Modern competitive advantage is shifting from traditional industry positioning, associated with Michael Porter, toward designing coherent systems of value creation and capture. In this lecture, Alexander Mertens explores how business model architecture, platform logic, and adaptability become key drivers of success in contemporary markets. Participants will learn why business model design is increasingly viewed as a primary source of sustainable competitive advantage in the modern economy.
"Competitive advantage today is no longer only about industry positioning — it is about designing a coherent system of value creation and capture."
