Preparation For Admission
Preliminary interview
You can schedule an online interview before submitting your application. This is a great opportunity to get to know us, ask questions, and earn an additional point toward your competitive score.
Required documents
Make sure you have all the required documents. We recommend not delaying your application, even if some documents are not ready — they can be submitted later.
English language
If you do not have a document confirming your English proficiency level, register and take the speech test (URT). Details are available in the “Admission Documents” section.
State examinations
If you do not have a certificate of state examinations, register and take the online test assessing your readiness for higher education.
Stage 1. Submitting an online application
Choose a program and complete the application form by uploading all required documents. You can find recommendations for filling out the form in the guidelines section.
After submitting your application, please regularly check the email address you provided (including the “Inbox” and “Spam” folders). We will contact you within 7 working days at BISEB.
Stage 2. Online interview
After reviewing your documents, you will receive an email invitation for an interview. We are interested in getting to know you better and understanding whether the program is a good fit for you at BISEB. During the selection process, we pay attention to the following:
1. Motivation to study in our program and your interests in business, economics, entrepreneurship, and science
-
Why are you interested in economics and business?
-
Why did you choose our program?
2. Academic and extracurricular achievements
-
Participation in Olympiads, competitions, or social projects
-
Scientific, creative, or business initiatives
-
Knowledge and experience in the IT field
3. Career goals
-
Which competencies are important for you?
-
How do you envision your career after completing the bachelor’s program?
-
What goals do you set for the next 5 – 10 years?
Motivational letter
If you feel uncomfortable with a personal interview, you can submit a motivational letter together with your application. The letter should cover the same topics — your motivation, achievements, and career plans. The letter does not affect your competitive score but may help you feel more confident. During the interview, we will focus on clarifying details rather than asking general questions.
Stage 3. Final decision
The final admission decision is made after a full evaluation of your documents, interview results, and the decision of the admission committee at BISEB. The admission committee meets only three times during the admission campaign. The meeting dates are available in the “Admission Calendar” section. You will receive the final decision by email within two working days after the committee meeting.
Stage 4. Submitting documents for a visa/residence permit
Once you receive a positive final decision, our specialists will contact you to assist you with preparing documents for a visa or temporary residence permit. The university has a visa support department that assists students with the application process (note: the university does not submit applications on behalf of students, but only provides consultations).
A detailed list of documents can be found on the website of the Lithuanian consulate in your country.
Please note that application preparation and review at the consulate can take two months or more , so we strongly recommend submitting documents in advance, based on application deadlines and the start dates of the academic year.
Step 5. Booking a place in a dormitory
After receiving a positive final decision, we will send you a form to apply for a place in the dormitory at BISEB. You can learn more about the dormitory accommodation on our website.
Stage 6. Arrival in Vilnius
After obtaining your visa, we recommend booking your flight or bus ticket as early as possible. Tickets to Vilnius may sell out quickly, especially at the beginning of the academic year. Plan your arrival in advance to make sure you reach BISEB before classes start.
All done! Welcome to BISEB!
Keep an eye on your email — we regularly inform and advise students to ensure that your adaptation is successful and comfortable.
See you in class!
Admissions calendar
We recommend submitting your documents early — during the 1st or 2nd admission rounds:
-
Visa / residence permit processing may take two months or longer
-
The number of available places is limited, and admissions may close earlier
-
Early application gives you more time to plan your relocation
Below are the dates of the three admission rounds at BISEB.

Competition Score
Students are admitted without entrance exams, based on their competitive score. Information on how to improve your competitive score is provided below. The competitive score is calculated from the following components:
The highest result is taken into account: either the national state examination score or the school certificate grade on a 10-point scale (with a coefficient of 0.9).
The highest score on a national state exam and/or an international exam certificate is taken into account. If you have provided a URT certificate, the grade on the certificate is factored into the competition score (with a coefficient of 0.9). For applicants from EU countries, a minimum grade of 7.0 is taken into account. If you have not studied English, please refer to the Q&A section.
The GPA of a general secondary education certificate or a diploma of secondary specialized education is taken into account. The GPA of the document must be at least 7.0 on a 10-point scale.
The score you received in the interview is taken into account. For interview details and a list of questions, see the section "Stage 2. Online Interview."

We will start the admission process and conduct an interview with you. Once the missing documents become available, you can submit them electronically to our email: economics@ehu.lt
Recommendation:
Start the application process as early as possible by filling out the form and attaching the available documents.Yes. Our university does not set an expiration date for this type of document.
If English was not your main foreign language at school, we will sign an additional agreement when concluding the contract stating that you commit to achieving at least B1 level English proficiency before the beginning of the 3rd semester. University provides a special English language course for this purpose (12 ECTS credits).
You will be able to obtain a student temporary residence permit (TRP) after signing the contract. Currently, the residence permit is issued for a period of 1 to 2 years. Applicants from Belarus apply for a visa within their country and then apply for a residence permit in Lithuania.
Students from the EU, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan may apply for a residence permit outside Lithuania (for example, through external services such as VFS Global).
If you already hold a residence permit in Lithuania for other purposes, it is not necessary to renew or reissue it for study purposes. The main requirement is that the basis of your current residence permit must remain valid for the entire study period.
